The composition and lighting make this image. The flower in some cases looks backlit, did you use back lighting??? BTW, beautiful shot!!

Very nice shot, you might dodging the scanned image to bring out some detail in the shadows. If you use photoshop set the dodge tool to 10% and go over an area a little bit at a time.

It's a beautiful shot, I would backoff on the saturation a little the sky is a little intense...

My wife was participating in a triathalon in Boulder, CO. The morning of the Triathalon I drove to Estes Park and then to Rocky Mountian National Park.

Thanks for the description, I was afraid to ask... Good colors, I think with the shapes involved I would try some different angles and directions, maybe some shallow DOF to emphasize one of the oilers, just some thoughts....

Nice shot you might try a polarizing filter to darken the sky and clone out the overhead wire, just a thought...

Great shot, I assume the sun was almost in your face. You might try a little dodging to lighten the shadows a little and bring out more of the detail. I know this won't help but later in the day would help considerably with the sun to your back. Sunrise would also be very dramatic. Composition is wonderful great job with what you had to work with!!!!
