Hi Kambiz,

A few years back, when I was planning about a travel to New Zealand, I did a little bit of research and found a number of photos in which Lake Matheson is unbelievably calm. According to the others' travel logs (if I remember correctly), it is quite possible to capture a silky smooth lake early in the morning. (Yet in the end I went to the Franz Josef Glacier instead of the Fox Glacier, hence I haven't gone to Lake Matheson.) If you ever travel to Lake Matheson *and* if you are an early bird, I'll bet you won't be disappointed.

Perfect reflections, great scene and well captured.

I'm debating as to whether the roots extending out from the water are a distraction or not.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Justina,

Very moody shot, the horizontal composition works well here with the slow shutter. I think a bit more definition in the velvetty patterns of the flowing water in the foreground could've really punched the impact of this shot, it seems a bit too blurry / soft.. (I'm not talking about the focus, nor the time of exposure, so it's not somehting you could've influenced, I think - it's the flow pattern that gives it the impression of being soft and non descript. Besides, it's a minor thing, and I really like this photo.

Cheers,

hugo

Fantastic and fascinating. Who would think that a bunch of boulders on a beach could make such a powerful image? Truly excellent Justina.

Great composition and capture of light upon the mountain. The clouds give this image a moody effect. My only comment on this image is that the color balance seems a bit cyan. Very nice capture and good work,

My compliments and best wishes.......Mike

Hi Justina,

this is a great shot with the Remarks in the background. I used to live in Q'town, and I really like the view with the slate in front focus also, with the overall blue tones,

Cheers

Melanie
