This is a nice shot. But I think the alternative is even better. More moving and artistic.

I agree with Eddy's post. It's a nice sequence, and it really captures the childhood enthusiasm. The retouching or cloning in the bottom-right of the top image is a little distracting, but that would be easy to fix, so no major complaints. I did a similar shot recently. Slides and kids are a match made in heaven, aren't they?

What a great setting, beautiful colors, beautiful model, beautiful costume. My only hangup is her expression - it's sort of indifferent, neither glad nor peaceful nor judging or anything I'd expect from a mythological sort of shot like this.

I really like the composition and layout. I agree that lighting is the main issue here. Maybe a reflector to get the same tone of sunlight from the other side would help. I like the soft tones of the water as well as her outfit. And not to the nitpicky, but her pants kind of fold in a funny way on one side of her rear. Still, very appealing. Nice work.

I'm surprised there have been no other comments or ratings. I like the idea, and it's an attractive photo. I think the cropping is too extreme on the top and left sides; I'd like to have seen the rest of her hair. Also, the tan lines are a little distracting.

I like it. There's a nice feel to the image as a whole, something almost nostalgic, but not necessarily "period."

To perfection. I'm impressed.

Excellent use of the black and white to accent the character without being cliche. I do agree with the others that coloring the hands would make it even better.

The idea is nice, and the execution is perfect. Marvelous.

Wonderful macro. It's unique and artistic -- the sort of thing I'd hang on my living room wall for visitors to see, maybe right above the piano. Well done.

There are so many directions this picture could go with slightly different titles, but I like the one you've chosen. Rather than being a picture of loneliness, the pumpkin here is a friend. And in a way, the pumpkin is the center of the photo and the child is the trusted confidant. I think you've taken a common setting and turned it into a great picture.

My in-laws' cat likes to walk around behind the blinds like this. I wish you'd gotten the tail, but it's a hard thing to capture. Nice work.

I've been staring at this picture for about 10 minutes. I'm still not sure what to make of it. It doesn't quite tell a story, but I know that a story is there somewhere. It's very crisp and the colors are beautiful. I don't know. I'm intrigued.

I like it. The model shows real promise -- not only is she pretty, but she is photogenic and engages the camera well. I think the shot could be improved with more light on the left side of her face.

I like the idea and the title really makes it great. I'd like it better if they weren't parallel on the sidewalk and if they weren't both at the bottom of the shot.

There is a really nice sort of contradiction in this shot. The facial expression and pose suggest a sort of boredom and stillness, but the tall cigarette ashes ready to fall on bare skin give it a little tension.

I like the clarity and the "expression" of the bird.

I agree. I think it's an original pose, and the balance is very effective. Good work.

I personally like the photo frame on the left. In fact, I like the overall composition very, very much. I don't mind the head and feet being cropped because it keeps the image closer to us and doesn't make it look as framed. I'd touch up the little spots on the legs, though. Other than that, a really great shot. It's going in my favorites.

Wow, what a great idea and a great shot. I've seen something similar with blurred pictures, but the clarity of these shots really makes it stand out. Well done!

I really like how the staircase on the lower left is balanced by the dark tree trunk on the upper right. The sepia tone works well here.

I like that the colorization is subtle. From the thumbprint I couldn't even tell it was done, which makes the realization more impacting and less cliche.

I like the idea a lot. I think you could go further with it too. Try some variations of pose and expression, perhaps of contradiction (like the dark being happy and the light sad, for example).

I really like how the lines take us deeper into the picture, and then the baby sort of "pops out" in front again. Very fun shot.
