I have the hot glass removed and replaced with optical glass. This was taken with an additional filter that blocks out all visable light (not the ones most people use). I can take handheld IR shots at normal camera speed. I need a filter to take "normal" color photos. PS is needed to convert to a useable form

Well...I am still learning. The photo is really a merged panoramic taken 6 feet away. Is the photo below more of what you mean? Hard to get shadow detail on a very cold day on metal.

I love the composition and the cropping. Nice DOF. However, as a D100 owner I am not sure the exposure is up to snuff. D100 correct (?) exposure provided for your comment.
