Excellent child portrait with lovely soft lighting-I like the soft focus around her hair. The background interests me as well, looks like stars in the night sky.I paint some of my backgrounds so dont be too surprised if you see something similar in the future!!!!

Thankyou Shirley for your comment, nice to hear from you again.I have not been active lately but hope to keep in touch again now.
Just a little point of interest the frame is a bit much but was something i could do on a free PS download and I got a bit carried away with the ease of it:)but found it a good way to see the result of how an image for hanging would look in a frame

HI Bruce, yes it me back after a long break!!!!!
I like this shot, the duckling and ripples make the shot of coarse,I had to look really hard to see the duckling but realized by the ripples there was a little beastie of some kind hidden there among the foliage.Happy New Year and love to you all, hope all is going well for you.

Hello Louise,I have just come across your portfolio while browsing and ended up going thru all your images,I have made this one a favourite although i must say it was hard to just choose one!!your work is super and a lot of it is the kind i like to do with my grandchildren.I now have 3 little great grand daughters whom i love to take pics of and i prefere to go for the high key approach as well.I have not put anything on U.F. for ages you have now encouraged me to do so:)
Best regards and congrats on your beautiful work.

Hello Ange, thankyou for your recent kind comments on my images.Nice to meet you! I have had a peep at your portfolio and see you have similar subject interests as myself.I have just been taking shots of a Tui in my garden 5 mins ago!I like this tightly cropped portrait you have taken, they are such beautiful birds and I find it quite hard to get good shots of them.
THanks and cheers

Thanks Kes,yes it is the DOF and the soft blurred colours of the background which I like so much using the 70-200 wide open which pleases me as well.

Thanks for the comment Greg, yes it is a bit on the cold side for photos today, although I took heaps of bird ones yesterday from my window.I had put up new feeding stations and had Tuis Bellbirds and waxeyes by the hundreds. It is good to be back in action,my health had packed up earlier in the year but I am slowly getting back to my old self again thankgoodness.I will check out your portfolio to see what I have been missing.
Cheers Micky.PS this image is hanging in the nature exibition on at the museum at the moment.

Hi there Bruce, have not been about a lot lately, the health packed up for quite some time, but slowly getting back into things.
I really love this lone tree, so strong and Regal in stature very well placed in the frame, pity you lost the sharpness what did you do in PS to cause that?love the forground shadows.I think I am done with sunrises!more inclined with the sunsets these days, pity though as I love the early light.Plenty of snow pics at the moment, all over Sth Island Ashburton got the heaviest fall in many years, lge areas of Canterbury without power.

Cheers

Hi Tim,I am always attracted to your colourful landscapes this one is no exception and i agree with Roger Williams you could get away with a title of Wine and Roses for a view like this.I would even put up with a few bugs!!!lovely work as always.
