Hey, Heather, despite the doom it spelled for this poor plant, this is my favorite photo of yours. Congratulations on Donor Photo of the Day. The square crop works well!

Best regards,
Sue

I guess one has to know HK and live there to see the art-work here. Creative of you to think of taking a photo of the man at work. Full marks from me - at least!

Lovely photography, Heather. You have captured the light well, it's warm, soft and sharp. Lots to look at and keep the eyes travelling back and forth in the image. The sun pulls all the elements together.
Always love views of mountains in levels of shades (always remind me of China).

Excellent composition, and that pink sun is wonderful, its color reflected in the water. Very moody. It looks like 6PM.

maybe you could work on exposure, but that matters little to me. i think you got the exposure right on the forms that matter here. this is a very nice photo. if i were to suggest something, it would be to shoot the same place with a tighter aperture and longer exposure, so the people blur even more and the place takes on a more eternal feel. i like your b/w pictures better than your color ones (i tend to prefer b/w anyway). i think you see forms more clearly when composing in b/w and don't get distracted by superficial prettiness. good work.

thanks Andy,
yep thats the right artist & thats what I thought when I saw them. It was unfortunate there was no way to get across the road to get this straight on which I think would have looked much better (8-lane tunnel entrance with industrial site on the other side & no pavement). Yes, they're on bamboo held together with strips of plastic - you can see close up on my other pic.

A very cool image Heather. I love the geometry of the scaffolding set off by the blocks of color. Its as if the men are set against a Mondrian painting (I think thats the right artist at least). Is that bamboo that they are climbing on?

Beautiful! The geometry of the bamboo scaffolding, roofline and paving, juxtaposed against the blue shirt is wonderful. Nice composition!

Like the distortion. Fog fog fog. Last time I saw IFC it was only half covered in glass. The blue night shot that I did has a picture of it only half clad.

Yes Heather, I have moved to Bangkok due to the economic situation in HK right now. Been here since December

Hey Heather, Why do you get nice comments on your Sunset Pics and I get comments like "All sunset pics are so Boring therefore they are all no good" when I post some? I'm jealous!

I like this one. You been out on a Junk trip lately?

Brad

This picture calls for attention, well done! I don't know if it's the repeating pattern, the contrast between colors and dark areas or whatelse, but it works nicely.

The red background is effective here, and so is the sharpness of the cat's face. I agree the photo would be more artful if the ear were not cropped. I think a lot of people love their cats, and there is nothing wrong with cat pictures if they have something special to offer. The problam with cat photos is that there are so many of them; therefore, it's very difficult to make "yet another cat photo" stand out from the rest. When so many people are posting pictures of their cats, how do you make yours stand out? That's a real challange.

I like the softness of the yellow petals, so I think the DOF that "fuzzes out" that portion of the shot actually works to the benefit of the photo. Very pretty image.
