Thanks Marcus. You are correct. Night herons are a bit blue in color. Other than that, they look similar to these egrets in physical features.

Thanks Amy. It was a delight to see this bird perched so close to the road. Since I always have my long lens on my camera as default, it was easy to get this photo before (s)he flew away, which (s)he did.

Thanks John. It was an overcast day. A perfect day for bird photography, with no harsh light/shadows to blow out exposures, especially with whites as here.
