congrats on the SC rozmi!

for me what makes this image excelent is the boy in the first plane closing his eyes with an attitude and kind of abstracted from all the excitement around him. don't know why nobody has mentioned it... what ufo?

sérgio

make love not war?...

very cool and original. the effect of the transparencies is great resembling an x-ray.

it would be awesome if you would give a bit more attention to the composition, framing and exposure.

you really have a way with your models gertrud.

this is so hipnotic. it is like has tough you created a tension and/or a high rapport between you and her and then you captured it.

i've seen portraits from you with some different models but what i remember is that there is always a constant feel about them. maybe it is just that you pick them very well, but my guess is that you can really get them to show what you want.

!!!!!!!

rozmi your portfolio keeps getting better and better!

alessandro is very right! it is excellent the way the man is almost in the same position from the poster. it's great also the hand in the bottom appearing to grab his trousers.

also like the line made by the two skirts lined up and the way the man's jacket breaks that line making his position even funnier. and his expression is so well captured.

thank you so much for sharing this with us rozmi. your work is so inspiring! hope to see at least a BIP on this one .

best regards,
sérgio

well franz there are many ways of doing it. depends a lot in what you want and how confortable you are with the techniques.

1. you can select the mountains and the poles with the magic selection tool and then apply the filter just on that.

2. you can also create a new layer with a copy of the photograph, add the filter to this layer, adjust it's opacity to the level you want (you can also change it's type of opacity) and then with a soft eraser erase the copy layer in the sky part.

3. in the end you'll have to flatten the image to put it in jpg again

but the best thing you can do is to get there again with a ilford 100 or with the settings to 50 or 100 iso on your camera. take also a tripod

best regards,
sérgio

i like this rozmi. they all seem desperate or restless somehow.

i also like the zigzag line and how it divides the photo between the sky and the newspaper readers. i would never tought of that but that sky gives them room, it's like their restless toughts would all mingle and float in that empty space.

too bad for the two persons in black in the background, as the others don't steal attention from the viewer this two really stand there very contrasted in the center of the composition. humm... well, but then again maybe it adds something.

hi lisa!

were you boticelli's model?

are the similarities intended? turned out really nice, it looks like you're under water or something.

oh! well there's a lot of noise in there.
i suggest you don't let you'r camera choose the settings like a fast iso speed as i suppose it's the case here.
try putting it down to 50 or 100 iso then use a tripod or just leave your camera on top of a rock or rucksac and use the self-timer.

well now i like the work you done here in PS , may i just add that you could experiment leaving the sky out when you apply the filter?

regards and thank you for showing the original,
sérgio

hi hugo,
i guess you hit the point again, remember i still don't have a filter holder? so i hold them below the lens when i enlarge. the thing is i started to hold them closer to the paper, maybe the efect was lost in part by that. i will try and see if the efect is changed by that.
i will use a n? 4 filter next time i guess it would be better.
hey! and that's no excuse! my darkroom has 120x80cm (it's my drawing table!)

thanks for the kind comment.

really love the composition and those tones here franz.

i don't think that noise (a filter in PS?) is adequate to such a clean photo. can you upload the original one? would really like to see that.

this is so cool. i would crop it 1/3 from the right rotate it 90? (or not) and it would be more abstract and a great background for any graphic work.

great eye!

adoro aquele candeeiro a flutuar por cima das duas pessoas sentadas. a composição está linda e a expressão intrigante dela também. da luz nem se fala - perfeita - dá harmonia a toda a cena.

um abraço,

Love the colours, the DOF and the way you composed and framed this.

But the thing I like best here is your beautifull vision and the way it comes all the way to us.

Goes to my favourites!

Just perfect! It's great how you accentuated the expression using the DOF, and love the way it turned out visually.

Congrats on the well deserved BIP!

errmmm....
