hello everyone, thanks for the comments, much appreciated..
as far as the setup, i used my new Canon 100 mm f/2.8 Macro lens, on a tripod, set to manual with a shutter speed of 200 and aperture of 18, then it was all about timing to fire the flash and the shutter at the right time! I used a shallow glass bowl with only a little bit of water in the dish which was placed on a photograph to give the background colours, I sat there all day yesterday with a pipette in one hand and a shutter release in the other! took hundreds of photos, about 8 of which I am happy with…not a bad first effort I thought!
Cheers

Hi there,
Any comments/suggestions welcome. i am not sure if the hair over her eyes is a big problem or not really...i like the shot, but then i probably would cos its my daughter! and i know not all portraits need to be about the eyes..but i dunno! your thoughts would be appreciated..
thanks

Hi Davide,
I certainly did listen to you! Thanks for the inspiration..
you think I should crop it to remove all the background? Make it a bit more abstract?

Thanks for your comments mate…much appreciated..

Take care
Adam

hi Sudhir,
thanks for the comments, i agree with what you are saying...i think maybe better lighting and turing off the flash may sort that issue?
cheers
