very nice geometrical capture with the light lines..
i like the diagonal positioning,
you may try to burn the areas out of light lines to improve the contrast and strenghen the power of lights..

I love this one, jeanette! it has a feeling of lightness even though its stone. It looks like one of those spanish folding fans. the combination of radii and diametrical lines is also great..... its a favourite for me!
I don't know why but your style makes everything look like its delicious.. (maybe I just like food too much) this kind of reminds me of a good roquefort cheese!

interesting to see this because a few days ago I was shooting stairs in a similar way but with the light on them and the geometric pattern being shadows ....... this is nicer, and I prefer the second version

I think you can do several different versions, including a b&w and they'd all be fairly effective. I'm drawn to stairwells because of how they interact with light.

great image! i'm addicted to high contrast edits, so of course i'd have processed it like you did in the smaller version... but i have to say that the original version is... uhm... better! i can't explain exactly why, but i find it more appealing... maybe it's for the softer (afternoon?) lighting...

Another fantastic abstract shot. The differences between the main shot and the smaller shot are interesting in the relative weight. I think the larger (lighter) shot looks like a ceiling while the darker shot looks like stair steps. perhaps the size of the shot, or color... Facinating illusion. Great work Jeanette!

first I thought about a window, the sun comes in... then I thought about stairs. I like the greenish look, the strong textures and the diagonal light setup. The alternative version is a bit dark for me ;-)
