Hi Greg,
Excellet shot here! I agree with what Margaret suggested and did with the shot, but it takes the composition in the first place to "touch up". Great effect with the snow and great composition.

Hi Greg,
Welcome to usefilm! Been checking out all the images but I'm trying to get back to commenting on people's pictures. Nice shot of the Parliament! I don't have anything else to add besides what was already mentioned. I know I'd definitely clone out the sign on the bottom right. I'd look forward to seeing the new updated version.... should be a great shot then!
Hope your trip went well!

Yes I ended up trying her suggestions and fixed it up a bit. I do like it better this way, she was right. I'll replace it with the improved version later. I haven't seen you for a while, I hope you are well. Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg, welcome to UF. Our Parlaiment is a great choice for a first post. The snowflake effect conveys the feeling of a pleasant, calm winter evening. Good shot. I like Margaret's adjustments as I think it looks better staightened. (In PS, use the clone tool to take out things like the sign.) MAry

Thank you for the comments, I have seen your photos and admire them also. The windy fireworks picture was great and the story was amusing. I can't believe you had the thought of getting it on film during all of that!

Ok I've seen your touch up and I like it! How did you get rid of that do not enter sign?

Thanks Margaret, no offense taken for any constructive comments as I am new. I do have PS and I did actually brighten it a bit, but any more would over expose the lights in the pic I think. Also it was a dark winter evening so I think the lighting is much as it was. I didn't think to try and straighten it but the picture was taken from this perspective and it is on a hill ... but I will try that and see how I like it. Thanks again and I'll be sure to check out your portfolio.

Greg welcome to UF. I like the snowflake effect too, and it is a very nice view/scene. I don't know if you use any PS type package or do not like any changes to original shots. So please do not be offended if I make suggestions. A little straightening and brightening might make this lovely scene even better. You already have good detail as you can read the time on the clock, and I really like the twinkling lights. Margaret
