About To complete the trio, this is the lower portion of the falls at Goredale Scar. it's upstream of the approach and if you look carefully you can see a person in the shot looking at the falls

She was quite a long way off the falls - they are pretty big, probably about 20-30 feet.

when it's a bit less flooded it's a cracking climb - done it many many times in the past. You usually go up the big rock at the left then up the middle... bit wet for that this day

What some people call a 'wall hanger', Ade!
Definite poster or framed print material!
Beautiful shot.
Best regards, Chris

think it w3as longer than that come to think of it....

thing about RAW is tath you can't get hold of teh EXIF data as easily as a JPG... looks like 1 -2 seconds doens't it?

cheers steve, and the spray as well as the noise!!!

to be honest, I had the lens on quite slow - F11 I think, I just exposed for the water. pointed the inner circle at the water in manual, then moved the shutter speed till the pointer went to + 1 2/3.

Then I left the exposure at that (so the water doesn't burn out completely) and took all the waterfall shots at that exposure.

the beauty of manual is that once you've got a meter reading, you don't have to bother changing it unless the light changes!

you probably just unerexposed a bit - that's fine in RAW as you can boost it in the RAW editor!

Fabulous detail Ade, it is a shame you couldn't capture the roar of this also - it really was loud wasn't it !

This is where the benefit of a fast lens comes in Ade, my results came out a little too dark.

I'm surprised you gott hat effect with a 1/30th sec Ade but then I shouldn't be surprised at what you get out of that machine. Good pic and the prson gives us some sense of scale.

T first glance I didn't see the person but then when I read your info and looked again there she was. As plain as day. Looks like a missed a lot of beautiful waterfalls during my stay when I was in England but I was in Sussex. So glad to be able to see these falls through your photos. Thanks.

Cheers - Ann :)
