Oh Gayle...how unusual....I was pondering the image and before I even read your "about" I was thinking it looked like an old worldy type photo from yesteryear. Honest..I'm not just saying that. I really did think that before I read your info so obvioulsy your image does evoke that feeling...at least it does for me anyway. A very thoughtful image. I think the white scratchy type verticle lines have a lot to do with extracting those feelings and thoughts. Veyr beautiful image. Cheers - Ann :)

If you did 50 of these a day and then picked out the best one, then I could understand. But to be able to just sit down and do this and be so successful every time is beyond comprehension. I hope you haven't made a deal with Mephistopfeles.

Gayle, this is GORGEOUS!
I love what you have done here.
I'd say you were successful in your
endeavor!

Love the colors, and the grain/texture
in addition to the presentation.

Good job,
Lori :)

Gayle!

This is strikingly like a postcard I have somewhere, or maybe like my remaining memories of it combined with other flowers elsewhere.
It makes me feel like I have just been rummaging in distant and long undelved drawers... and chanced upon a holiday postcard from someone and somewhere I knew little about and which has mysteriously ended up in my possession.
The sort of thing that unexpectedly thrusts something at you about what the people around you were thinking all that time ago, but never really spoke about.

Flowers, eh?

Yeah!

Paul

Hi Gayle,

I reall like the blurry outcome, the weird colors and the treatment on the framing and the spots in the image itself. looks like a poster formed from different parts. nice ;-)

best wishes,
Thilo

Great "antique" look to the shot, Gayle. Instant nostalgia, what an oxymoron that is!

hi, good question,Cary...create on the fly!...this was a too low light slightly blurred shot i had from the Summer, and didn't want to just let it sit...nostalgia and romance immediately came to mind...only took a few mins. for the image, but longer for the border treatment which i had to adlib since nothing ready-made appealed to me....have a great Sunday!

Wow, this is great Gayle, you have a nice style, do you visualize the entire image while shooting or do you create it on the fly?
