Merci encore, drilan

Yes, Drilan, Marcus is a wonderful artist. His pictures of the great raptors and waterbirds are always marvelous. For example, see http://www.usefilm.com/image/960204.html

That new lens is producing the goods for you with plenty of detail in the birds feathers and razor sharp. Well done.

Daniel. Gracias.

Saludos,

Drilan--You are correct. It is 420mm with the extender. The 1.6 digital "crop factor" makes the result 672mm!!! This was the best quality long telephoto combination I could possibly afford. I decided on it after long admiring the bird photos of people like Marcus Armani and Darlene Boucher on UF who use similar equipment. I hope I can use it nearly as well as they. ;-) --g

Looks like it works well...I can certainly tell from this that your gunna have lots of fun...I went the other direction and acquired a 50mm f1.8 portrait lense which BTW also produced some of the fall landscapes I've been posting...I look forward to some great bird shots

You have technique to use your new lens down pat George. Almost gives the feel the bird was cut and pasted from another image. It is so sharply outlined and presented, neat.
