About This is for Sam's son Dalton.

Dalton, this is a 6 month old baby lion that was at the MGM Grand.
He's here to remind you that even youngsters can have lots of strength and courage! :)

(The ear has a little "action blur" on it because he flipped it up just as I snapped the shot!)

Close encounter of the cat kind.
Dear Susie,
Last time I was at the MGM was almost one year ago but I could not get any shots of the lions.
This portrait came out really nice.
Excellent shot of the "Prince of the Jungle".
Take care.

Thanks Jan! It was a pleasure and something that I wanted to do the moment I read the about on Dalton's pic that Sam posted.
It is nice to get to know a little about the UF members that we have come to know as friends. Your family is really special...I know you are blessed to have each and every one.

Hi Sam!
Ya know, I figured something like that had happened. I am flattered that you would want to print and frame it...and of course! Please feel free.
Email and internet are strange things...sometimes messages don't get through and sometimes things are misread (that happens way too often on this site I am afraid) I just received a comment from Linda that she sent back in early September! Strange!
I consider you one of my buddies here on UseFilm so don't ever think I will be offended by a comment, or lack thereof! :)
I don't want to go into detail on the other "stuff" that's been going on...I'm sure you know what I mean...but keep your chin up. You have some real friends here on UseFilm that enjoy and appreciate your work. Keep it up!
Give my best to Dalton...we'd love to see more of this little guy!

Hi Susie,

I did Respond the first Day you put this Shot Up for my Little man.
I do not know what happened. Dalton and I opened it together. He really giggled when I told him it was for him.
I even Said that I would love to have the original or permission to frame this one for him to hang on his wall.
I really appreciate This A LOT. I am deeply sorry that the comment didn't register.
This Shot is Beautiful.
The Details are fantastic and the frame work is spot on.
I hope you accept my sincere apology for the mishap.
My Very Best Regards
From Both Dalton and I

Sam III

Susie - Dalton's Grandma Jan thanks you very much for this photo and your dedication to one of my Grandchildren. The strength and courage you mentioned is something demonstrated by Sam and his relationship with Dalton. Caring for anyone less than physically perfect is mentally and physically demanding all of the time - but then parenthood is not easy even in the best of situations.

So thank you - this shot is great - love the rich details, colors, DOF, and the movement that you were able to capture because he moved his ear just as you snapped the shot. That was the icing on the cake IMHO. Jan

Oooh they had babies. How wonderful :) I'm so glad you went there and saw the lions in the glass enclosure. Isn't it great the way you can get inside underneath the glass and see the underside of them when they sit overhead. This is a beautiful shot. Very well taken considering I know the challenges that abound trying to get a nice photo there what with the crowds and the lions moving around playing all the time. Great capture Susie. Cheers - Ann :)

One of my all time favourite movies was called 'Roadhouse' starring Patrick Swayze...the character he played was a Doorman (Bouncer) and his name was Dalton.Looking at this Dalton I think he could eject unruly customers with ease...great shot, Regards, Brian

Optimal portrait of this baby lion. For the pose, and the ear, it seems in motion.

Very cool Susie! I must say I love big cats (and any small cats and dogs, any animal, really) - amazing shot of this cub, the whiskers and the eye in perfect light! You must have taken this shot through glass, which is even more amazing! I must get out of synch with you AND Kathy - yesterday I posted a cheetah (and later removed it) and I was just about to post a barn... and saw Kathy's - so I'll wait till she's done her series - and then the baskets... it's uncanny! I love this picture, wonderful expression and background, great crop! And since you mentioned it... the ear looks just fine to me!
