I like the off-centre crop for this one.
As for the ratings, I read somewhere on the site that if a person consistantly gives ratings of 6 or 7, there is some mathematical equation in place to de-value their rating.
I think it is to stop people giving their friends all 7's and so artificially giving them a high rating.

I like this abstract image very much.
The brass ring draws the eye in toward the center, and I wonder if you have considered increasing the brightness and contrast of the background portion of the image found in the center of the ring? There appear to be some very interesting colors which may be more visible if something is done to highlight them a little more.

When you click on a photographer?s work, adjust to his /her name you can find (add friend)( your associate).
The associates you choose them by clicking to add them to your associate, same as friends, the only things is that in associates they appears only to you, so you can delete them when you want without any one can notice which is not the case with friends adds, if you add them it appears to them too, so it is a bit delicate to delete them, they can notice it.

Every one had passed this problem, and that?s way from a few early upload I get rid of ratings.
I have to say this again, in usefilm almost every one leave a friendly comment, and as you know the comments caries no ratings but we used to it and am sure I hardly give less than 6 but for sure not much of 7s, which is again wrong, the rating should be accompanied with CRITIQUES and not comments.
The system of rate counting is a bit tricky though if a high numbers of ratings given, it automatically adjust it self to low numbers! or some un honest people give a very low rating.
To be honest with you it is hard to keep up with critiques in such big numbers of friends and associates, my self I have more than hundred friends and some good numbers of associates. I can not critique all of them, but a mixture of friendly comments and very seldom critiques.
What I count here is the numbers of visited rather ratings, which to me is a useless elements, and I like some to tell me what is for!
Keep up your good work and do not look behind, and it will be a good lesson for all and ignore them.

i really this one too, it is good, for me it is just perfect nothing could be added to it, maybe someone will say u should crop more , or not crop it at all , but at the end this is what is their minds and this doesnt make the pic bad at all, i really like ur project, and i think u have creative mind i told u this more than once :) good waiting for ur next pix,, Moe

Your ideas always inspire me Mohamed and I greatly admire them.

Dear Mohamed , first apologize for being late commenting this beautiful shot , second about rating problems want to tell you that my policy is never to rate any photo less than 7 & that's for the well done works only , others I just leave a comment without rating Or prefer not to comment at all if I don't like the work !! cose i don't like any one to get depressed for a comment or a rate from me , but I've noticed many times as Linda says that rates sometimes get down after putting my 7 & this upseting me alot & put a big question mark about the system of rating in UF ?? but any way in such case rate may lose 0.1 point not more , but there is somthing else dear Mohamed , I know some gentle members each time leaving a comment on any of my photos particularly the high rated ones even old ones & write 7+++++++++++ then my rate fell down immediately & lose 0.5 points !!!!!! and that's what many other good photographers are suffering from !!!!! you can chek it in what Judi Liosatos wrot about !! Any way .. God bless them !!!!I don't much care about it , So my dear friend Mohamed stay great & stay bright , You are very much talented & a real artist & a very popular member in UF & very dear to us (your friends) & don't waste your time in such small things :)))your work is much greater than any rates :)))

7elwa gedan ana shayefha mesh 3ayeza ay 7aga angle & texture are perfect & i am not with my friend hesham for using wide angle coz if u used it in shot like that it will make destortion in the pic my rate is 7 coz i admire the artistic photos & this is my problem the artistic photo atract me more than any one & thats all .
:::::: yes banna u read my name in the salon of small art works its no 6 for me in this salon but the last year it was MONOTEYP (its branch from the the graphic printing)& you will find in the cataloge my father if u know him he is great artist his name hamdi abdallah

my dear friend ,I?m agree with you hundred percent, that happened for me some times and as you said I prefer to be honestly with me and my work rather than saying just a sweet words as a complement , I considered as a kind of misleading should not come from friends at least...
so after all, honestly tell you that I?m very much like your work and very well know that nothing is perfect especially on art but we all doing our best to achieve the top one day on something we all love ,smile and let it go :)

Dear Mohamed, I think you are an awesome photographer and not only that but a very encouraging person to so many of us here at usefilm...HONESTLY I love your work, I have in the past made suggestions on your work, (rarely) but I have. I do not rate anyone, because I am always afraid that a 7 will bring their rating down, and it's not worth it. I don't completely understand the rating system, but I know that a 7 isn't a 7, so I just don't do it, I'm sorry...this is a wonderful image, I like the copper color, the curves and the depth in the pattern, very nicely done my dear...Linda

I follow much the same with regards to the ratings. Have never gone below 5 and if its not really appealing I also dont give a rating. Most of the time its a 6 and above or none.
I liked most of your curve series shots and have given ratings of 6 or above. I do like this one too. Its a nice abstract and looks like an iris.

Hi dear Mohamed,
Please don't get discouraged over the rating system here. For reasons unknown, I have given people a 7 only to watch their rating go down....doesn't make sense, but it has happened and I have seen it!

Did I not give an honest review of your picture entitled "beauty"? I never rate pictures for exactly the reasons you express above. I think people need to be encouraged with what they are doing, not compared to anyone. I have been busy lately and not had time to comment, but I have viewed every picture in your series and have enjoyed them very much. It is not something I would do myself, but you show a very artistic eye and your own personal style. Do not worry, my friend, for ratings mean nothing. You have a large following of friends in usefilm who enjoy your pictures and your comments. I am one of them.

I read your about, I too feel the same, I never give below a 5, as I appreciate the trouble people take, but I do know that sometimes a rating goes down, even when someone has given a high mark. I did not rate your last image as I was making a general comment about previous uploads.
I like this one because of the unusual colour, all shiny and like beaten copper, and the mystery of the dark centre. I like the crop too

Ok Mohamed - i like the graphic style here and the look alike an eye, a hard crop and the (at least on my monitor) colour that goes at pink...
I agree about honest comment. I almost never rate an image, so from me you never get ratings.
