About
December 8th is one hour away from turning into December 9th. A man is laying on the ground just past the archway - cassette tapes containing rough mixes of a song called "Walking on Thin Ice" are scattered all around him. He's bleeding profusely from 4 gun shot wounds fired from a $169.00 handgun. A Police Officer turns him over and asks, "What's your name?" "Lennon" he replies "John Lennon of The Beatles" The flow of blood is too intense to wait for an ambulance. He's put in the back of the squad car.Officer Gamble wants to keep him conscious, the hospital is only a few minutes away. "Are you sure you're John Lennon?" "I am" "How do you feel?" "I'm in Pain"...those were his last words and a few seconds later one of modern music's greatest singers, musicians , and song writers was gone. The sick **** who shot him leans against the wall of The Dakota right outside of the archway reading "A Catcher in the Rye". The same sick **** said to his parole board much later in 2004 that he killed him because he wanted "to steal Lennon's fame" He stole a lot more than that - why is he still among us?
On the 9th of October, 2005, John Lennon would have been 65 years old had he lived. We would have had 25 years more of great, meaningful music. 25 years more of a warrior who saw the truth and was always on the right side (boy do we need that now) Instead, everything was taken away unrelentingly in the blink of an eye by one little sick demon....
Remember when you were young how the hero was never hung always got away
Remember the man used to leave you empty handed Always , always let you down If you ever change your mind about leaving it all behind Remember , Remember Today
Don't you worry 'Bout what you've done Don't feel sorry 'bout the way it's gone
Remember When you were small How people seemed so tall Always had their way Remember your ma and pa Just wishing for movie stardom Always , Always playing a part If you ever feel sad And the whole world is driving you mad Remember, Remember Today
Good about which gives the story behind the image Like this straight on shot and the color with the very good "contrast level" ;> Strange that both cars appear to be the same color This image has a very somber atmosphere IMO... I'm glad you have this in your vast collection,Mark peace, gayle
