James,
Wonderful! And in very difficult conditions.
It can be so difficult to focus and to get the lighting right in bright desert settings!
How true are the colors of the sand and sky? Amazing.

James - i love the lines, sharpness and emotions of desolation and freedom these images evoke - so many deserts so little time....

I really like the shapes, colors and textures in this, James. Amazing how it varies from one dune to the next! -- Naomi

Hi Mike... in fact, about 1/3 to 1/2 of China is made up of mountainous or desert landscape. Most of the west and southwest is composed of such geography.

I didn't actually like this image much because in a way it doesnt look real, however I uploaded it anyway, since the images I put up that I think are good often get few views and the ones that i think aren't well done seem to be better received here. Just wanted to see what would happen :>)

This was taken with my Fuji, which renders better colours than my Nikon, however I still saturated the colours a little in PS. otherwise, the image is as I saw it in the camera (utilized USM for some sharpening as well).

Warmest regards ~ James

You wouldn't often consider china with a desert, but this is cool, the highlights you have created on the dunes give this a very surreal feel for me, you have odd bits of texture and smooth glassy sand, which I am still trying to determine if they are distracting, great detail in sand drifts in the middle dune!

Hi, James!

Rendered like graphics with some edge sharpening. Didn't expect to see that.
Perfect place to rest? lol
