About This is the last of my Sumo series. It shows the prize flags being carried around the ring before the bout. Companies purchase flags bearing their logotypes, and contribute prize money for particular bouts, before which the flags are carried around the ring. A form of advertising. This is a fairly popular bout with a dozen prize flags. The top match, the championship decider, may have as many as two or three dozen.

Thanks, Lido. About the film. It is not everyone's taste, the colours are a little subdued, certainly not as highly saturated as some, and generally has lower contrast, but it has two great advantages. One is wide latitude. The film has a very wide dynamic range, retaining detail in overexposed highlights and yielding some detail even in underexposed shadows. The other is it handles mixed lighting very well. This ability is quite astonishingly good.

Another superb photo Roger. I don't recognize the camera, but I'm starting to use to format more with my brother's Yashica 124G. This scene seems to be made for the square format. I'm going to have to start seeing the square possibilities now. By the way, how do you like the film? My photo supply source has mixed opinions.

Great Shot Roger. For me this is a very interesting one, as I have never seen a real Sumo arena before, and all you captured here makes it worth to spend some time and learn, for example, that the stands doesn't have chairs!...amazing.

Besides that, technically speaking, I like three things: The DOF you achieve allowing the kids boy to remain in the shot, the angle as it gives us an idea of the size of the place and how well you capture the ligth in the arena.

Good Job!

Thanks
