Hi Rob,
Lovely shot of this Peke in full coat. You have caught a wonderfully questioning look on its face:) Great natural shot. I don't agree that the dog should take up less space on the photo, you are taking a photo of the dog not the grass around it. Show dog photographers take close up head shot of the dogs because this is what the owner wants to see, the expression of the dog. I show dogs so I am in a position to comment about what show dog owners want in a photo

I agree James . A less tight crop would have been preferred . But , this was a "take it or leave it " image situation . I wanted to get this dogs picture , but the surrounding area and background was terrible and I only had about 1 minute to make it happen . So I had to get real close to make this shot useable . Thanks for taking the time to look and comment .

Ha ! You know what Todd , as soon as I layed down , it dawned on me . Hundreds of dogs in 1 field , and I'm laying down ??? Damn I'm dumb !!
Oh well , too late now !!! I got lucky . Never again though . Who said photography had no risks?
Live and learn :)
Thanks for commenting .

Rob,

Do be careful where you lie down.

nice shot of a really cute little creature. my guess is that this dog doesnt jog too quickly. i'd like to see the dog take up just a little less of the frame tho..... warmest regards ~ james
