I got an SLR made in the Ukraine It is the imitation Hasselblad, the Kiev 88. It IS the latest type, and has been taken apart and checked, modified, defective parts replaced, and generally completely refurbished and adjusted at a place called Araxfoto. I got some good lenses with it, though, including the 180/2.8 I mentioned and the Arsat 30mm fisheye. I took it to Sumo Wrestling over the weekend and will be seeing the first results in a few days. I'll be posting them if they are any good. It has worked quite well so far... although a few things are a bit rough in terms of finish and smoothness of operation. And there are lots of "gotchas" that you need to be careful of when operating it.

Roger - What camera did you get? My 6x6's are all fixed lens types, except for an old Commie Pentacon SLR which is more trouble than it's worth.

Jiri - Yes, it's from a print. I use Agfa Multicontrast Premium 312 for almost all of my work. My enlarger has a color head with dial type filters, and the Agfa paper works much better with it than Ilford.

Hi Ed, Beautiful image. I suppose that it's scan from print, isn't it ? Which paper did you use for this job?

Anpother fine portrait, Ed. My 6 x 6 SLR is here at last, with a lovely portrait lens (Zeiss 180/2.8) and I will be seeking subjects. As an elderly man I have to be careful where I am pointing the camera where there are children...
