About The scared and ?seeking approval? look she flashed me before she tried to cross the stream.
I said nothing this time back to her and she went for it.
If I hadn?t snapped it at this moment, that look would have been lost for the day as she did make it across this and everytime after?.fearful no more!

Wow Janet I absolutely love this one, what a nice effect of the fog, love the touches of foliage in the background especially, and that they are muted by the fog, she is perfectly placed within the frame, and the DOF and lighting are excellent. Your tones are wonderful...really great work...Linda

Dear Ms. B.
It's always a pleasure to meet new "Usefilm" friends and meeting you is is a special pleasure becuase looking at your photos I had a great time, getting to know your family and your surroundings via your lovely photos. I also met two SC while going through your portfolio and a BIP. I liked your "about"s, because they deepened my acquaintance with you, letting me know that your familly had been in the US for at least a century. These last two photos of yours, of your daughter's (?) attempts to cross the stream, with or without her hero-father were exquisite.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay further visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime I thank you for your very kind comment on my "Multiple Rachel."
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future comunications) Springmann

Thanks, David, and you are right...she is close to that thirds mark. Possibility that her eyes are in the lower part of the image and the 'space' is more noticeable?
And, yes, the quicker the better!! I have a bad habit of seeing things too late and then try to have them redo the 'pose'. Finding out that it usually isn't worth it...just not the same!

what a remakable shot! Such a beautiful perspective though all the grass/flowers. I know this reassuring look so well from my little ones. Very nice one Janet!

It is interesting that Susie mentioned the top space, because she is at the border of the first and second "third" vertically. :)

There is a lot you can analize looking at a photo, but when you take photos of kids you have to be quick and all that counts is a good photographic eye. I know I repeat myself, but you have a very good one.

Hi Keseph....thanks! I meant to post the original above for Susie, but it didn't go thru. Will try here!
Not an added effect...it was a foggy along the river so it was an added bonus!

Thank You, Susie!
Posting original...I did crop along the bottom only as I found the blurry foliage distracting. I know the rule of thirds and I do try to keep it in mind, but lately I seem to be about 'space'! Really no formula to except eyeballing it! I'm glad you like it....I feel better knowing I have some 'rule breaking' company!!

Wow, Janet, really nice! I like that fog - like area above her...is it an added effect of from your f4.0 choice?

Cute expresssion Janet. You're right, that expression doesn't come back unless you're very fortunate. Great capture. She is a doll. The b/w work is very nice and I love the space on the top. Do you use some sort of formula for the space or just what looks good to you? (And me!)
