Location City -  Soberania National Park
State -  PANAMA
Country - Panama   Panama
About Generally nocturnal and solitary I had the pleasure of running across one of these rarely seen, very beautiful birds while hiking the pipeline road in Soberania National Park, Panama. This capture had to be one of the highlights of my photo taking during the whole trip. From what I have read this bird is rarely seen so I feel honored that he showed himself to me. Almost missed him he was so well hidden in the overgrowth of Rio Friolitas.

Focal Length 400 mm.
Shutter Speed 1/4 sec.

Hope you enjoy looking at him as much as I did photographing him

Nice shot of him, Jim! Looks like he has very different colouring from the herons we're used to.
