your way of seeing the world around you reminds me of 17th century painters, like 4ex. Caspar Davied Friedrich. very romantic and frightening mood. great job

I like the fact you haven't taken the standard 'feathers' of the toi toi in this image. The almost brassy colours work well too.

These photos were taken in The North of New Zealand. Seasonal change not very dramatic there as the winters had no teeth. No snow.
Some varieties of Southern beech are the only deciduous treesnative to New Zealand, so in winter trees don't even lose leaves.
Here in the southern island the change is much more pronounced.
It may have something to do with seperating from gondwanaland before mammals evolved, I don't know, but New Zealand in its natural state does not become particularly broadly colourful in spring. Though there are lots of reds and whites on the trees most the native herbs and grasses, even native orchids, flower in green.
Rhodedendrons do well in the southern island. Hibiscus o.k. in the north.
A scent of nectar but not even any stunning exotic scents you may get in the tropics.

I was always curious about your country - it looks so remote. Spring is coming?
