Excellent portrait! The light, color, and texture are all warm and pleasant to look at, and the facial expression and appearance of the subject communicates someone who has seen many things. Interesting to look at and suggestive of a story. I'd ask no more of a portrait.
Not a criticism, but as a simple matter of personal preference, I find the framing to be a little distracting while not enhacing the story or the presentation of the image. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop of the figure without the framing would make the image more compelling. But this is one opinion only, and as you see, other opinions on this differ!
