Hi Bruce, thanks!
That's great advice. I'll definitely be taking it on board.

The longest lens you can get! I use an 80 - 200mm + a 2x teleconverter. Works well for me. If you're looking to get batsmen click the shutter halfway and take the shot as the ball is bouncing halfway down the wicket to get batsman and ball in the same shot. I try to stand as close to behind the bowler as I can get without distracting the batsman to get that head on shot. Go with 'aperture' as your setting and the widest you can get to knock out the background. From what I've seen you don't need too much advice anyway!
Cheers

Thanks Bruce!
Yes, you're right, it's very hard to get decent action shots in this game. These ones were taken with a Canon A70 (which was stolen recently), but I'm about to purchase a Pentax IST DS to play with.
Any recommendations for lenses or technique...?
Cheers Rina

Nice capture. I do a bit of cricket photography for my local side. It's not easy to get really good shots. I like this one. Well done.
