My suggestion would be to move the butter more to the center as being bright it tends to draw the eye away from the great arrangement. Don.

Thanks Mark...I wanted to move the glass in closer but they wanted the detail on the basket. I should maybe have tried splashing a bit more light in there somehow. Could lighten them in PS tho I suppose.

Nice still life. I like the overhead viewing angle. A well lit and sharply captured image. The color balance is nice too.

Louise, I am FAR from being a still life expert, believe me, but here are a few suggestions I'll try to make anyway. It might work to place the baskets a bit closer together to eliminate some of the empty table space in the center of the image. Or perhaps position one of the large baskets in the center as the main object of attention with the smaller objects toward the outside. The cherries next to the drink could be interesting points of attention because of their size and color, but in this image they're hiding in the shadows a bit. But, please, take these suggestions with a grain of salt, as I am just starting to experiment with still life myself.

Oh, also I really like the flowers very much in this shot as they add a lot to the table presence and fresh appearance of the food. Almost like a garnish adds appeal to a plated meal.

Good work!
Mark

No, I'm not even close to being good in the kitchen!! It is being created by a Graphic Designer's wife and her friend. I've worked with him on many projects over the years. This is fun so far. Going to be 17 pages and we have 4 done so far...more to come!!
