About
This is a revisit, with a much wider angle lens (my favourite fisheye) of the place in http://www.usefilm.com/image/723741.html. Looks a bibt different!
this is a wonderful composition, somehow I missed this one. I really like the off centered focus combined with the landscape on the right. an excellent yet unusual image for that reason.
Hugo, it's nice to have you back. The Zenitar is a Russian full-frame fisheye, not a circular image but equi-angular--you know, lines passing through the center of the image are straight? I sometimes apply a little correction for the non-linear distortions using the PanoTools freeware plugins, but I rarely remove them entirely as this tends to introduce unacceptable spatial distortion near the edges of the frame, as you no doubt have discovered. Did you look at the same view through a 35mm lens (the URL in the "about")?
Hi Roger, Very good image, layering the scene by the inclusion of the tree in front in the frame. It works very well. I'm very much a fan of fisheye lenses, these days. Just curious, is that Zenitar a-spherical or did you correct the distortion? Could also be a lens-camera combination thing, but I'm not familiar with neither the Voightlander, nor the Zenitar.... Interesting, that's for sure...:)
