About This is taken of Monument Valley last November. I know this is very much a global site and I try to be globally conscious but this one evokes feelings of our Wild West days in the US. I am horrible at picking projects..did I choose right? Let me know what you all think. :)

You're right Rob, it does look like classic west, almost waiting for a bunch of horses to come out of the shadows! Beautiful image! And yes I think this is a classic landscape!

This is great. I, too, would crop a little on the left - but not the right. I like the way that what you can see of the rock formation on the right appears to be a mirror image of the main rock formation. Perfect tones for the weather conditions of the day. Bringing out color or sharpening would kills the effect. I feel hot and dusty and overwhelmed with the vastness of this shot. Mom

Definitely a classic landscape. You cant get anymore Wild West invoking than that! (Where are the indians?)

Ahhhh Toshi...I don't consider you an amateur...just because you and I don't get paid for this doesn't mean we can't love it and produce good/decent work right? I think the stuff you produce is stellar man!

THANKS JOHN!!!! I was wondering if I should crop it over there as well...the reason I didn't is because I couldn't bare to get rid of the shadows from the rocks to the left of the base of the main Monument...what do you think??? I will try it on to see how it fits... :)

I'd say it's in the right project. I love the simple, subtle tones in this.

Love that big, dark shadow, and the tones work really well with the wild west theme. Great capture Rob! Only thing that bothers me is the empty space on the left - I think it'd be nice if the right was empty too, or another cliff to balance it out a bit. But that's just my amateur opinion :)
