your about has me laughing,John! i have yet to try the splash/water shots or drops and can imagine i would waste a lot of precious film,so for now i will leave it to you digi photogs..LOL..this works as an appealing abstract with the good complementary colors of red/green...like the position of radish red within the frame...regards,gayle

Dear John, I wouldn't be honest if I did not tell you that I liked your original photo better than the attached one, but that's only my view and I agree with Ms. Schembri in so far that I also delete more than half the photos on my camera before posting one. Best regards, Rafi

You are too kind, Rafi. But the point is that I have not yet really achieved what I set out to do. The attached image is the sort of thing I am looking for, but I'm still not happy with the results. Thanks for your encouragement - I'll keep at it! AJ

Hi Sally! The melon in the bathtub? Now I hadn't thought of that! But Dan's work has certainly been in the back of my mind (and up on my screen) during this frustrating period... AJ

Radish missed water?! You could try a melon in the bathtub :) I wish my success rate was as high as 1 in 20 - mine's more like 1 in 75. That 'first splash' of mine was blue - because I didn't set the whitebalance right, was off-centre 'cos I'm a bad shot with a pea (!), and the artsy vignette is the side of the washing up bowl! This is bold - full of colour and energy. Take a look at Dan Lightners strawberrys dropping into milk - some of them are really neat!
