About	Peacock butterfly (Inachis io) These butterflies get their name from the large and colourful eyespots on their wings, which resemble those on the tail of the peacock. Wingspan: about 60mm. The upper wing is mostly red with black markings and a large yellow and purple eye spot at the tip. Lower wings are red with a dark blue eye spot surrounded by a white ring. The butterflys body is dark reddish brown and usually covered in shiny hairs. Caterpillars are black, spotted with white and have shiny black spines along their back and sides. They are found in orchards, gardens and other places where there are lots of flowers. The caterpillars' foodplants are nettles and sometimes hops. Adults feed on nectar from flowers such as thistles and buddleia. During late summer they will also feed from over-ripe fallen fruit. Adults hibernate through the winter in hollow trees, rock crevices, stone walls and even in houses. Caterpillars feed gregariously but disperse to pupate away from the foodplant. This species only has a single generation each year with the mature individuals hibernating through the winter and emerging to lay eggs in spring.

Mostly I remove noise for background in my macros(like in this picture). If my camera doesn't help the photo to be more clear..sometimes I have to help it :) especially at higher iso than 50...
Older pictures like "Shiny", "Scorpion Fly", don't have noise reduction applied. I'm trying to get the best from all my available/accesible tools and post a beautiful picture.

Yes, I was very close. I was amazed by the fact that I didn't scared him.. This is the second friedly butterfly I met! In a year I couldn't make one picture to a butterfly and this week I made MACROS to two butterflys. ...i was lucky! :)

You did a great job on the exposure here Vasile! Awesome colors and good overall dof.Nice background blur! I suppose you removed some noise in this photo? I did not see it on your first photo......but i can see it on the 100% crop. There are some glassy pixels round the wings edges. I think your photo's have improved a lot by using this technique. Exellent work Vasile !!!
