There is something thought that I don't quite understand ;-) Night Photography? Well, probably low light, but I have a different meaning of "night" ;-)

My bad translation, Mark. In Brasil it's called "disco" (literally, disc) and not having been involed with many beach-type activities in England I was unaware of the term "skim board" but I think you're right. I'll update the "About" section and make you look foolish now. :)
Espírito Santo is the state that sits between Rio de Janeiro state and Bahia state. Some might say its only function is to increase the distance between Rio and Salvador, but being a "capixaba" (name given to those who come from ES, as "cariocas" are the ones from RJ) I think that is a tad cruel...
The correct word for "thank you" is "obrigado" for gentlemen and "obrigada" for ladies. Translates to "obliged" in English.
And don't let anyone say UF is not culture :)

Dear Angelo, I was gonna say, "Catch a Wave and you're sitting on top of the world" but then I noticed this is about disc-surfing (I think we called it a skim board back in my beach hangin' days) So forget about the wave thing. A very nice shot and where is this place? I 've never heard of all these places and it's messin' up my head ! (I thought I knew Brazil - what's wit dat?) Now, my day will be full of insecurity and doubt. Abrigado, Mark (did I spell that right?)

sorry dear Angelo for my fast comment,, the point is i was in hurry and didn't want to lose the photo comment,, i will tell you WHY your photo is nice and very nice also,first the composition is strong you put the two kids in the left side,, and the moon (or may be SUN) in the upper right side which give balance ,, second your photo is very clear with nice cheerful colors,, third,, the dark skyline gives an ending to the vision ,third the waves draw nice lines
,, and the skating boards ( in kids arms ) give horizontal line which add to the vertical lines of the kids,,
WELL DONE BY ALL MEANS ,, deserves more than 7 ,, have a nice day

I used to do this as a kid as well (but my board was perfectly circular). Excellent fun not withstanding the few facefulls of wet sand when the water ran out quicker than expected and made the board suddenly stick to the underlying sand!
Nice shot that captures the anticipation and tension of the wait perfectly. Lovely tones and composition too. Well done!
