I found this guy in front of my house. They have been populating my neighborhood ever since they escaped from someone's greenhouse about 25 years ago. I find them crossing the street every now and then, and I put them back in the trees before they get run over.
Those little digital point and shooters come in handy once in a while. Oh, it's a Jackson Chameleon.
Nice wild Jackson Chameleon! Must be located in hawaii!
It's funny how people actually believe that chameleons do change colors to their surroundings. That is really not true. Usually chameleon's natural colors are brown and green. Exceptions to the panther chameleons.
When chameleons change colors, it changes by their mood. It's like a mood ring. They change bright vivid colors when they are upset or angry.
Thanks for sharing that Ed! I'm glad your rescuing them! I'm a chameleon lover myself!
Fascinating. I've often wondered what they'd do if placed on a tartan rug... Keep up the good work saving these critters! I use my mobile phone camera in situations like this...
