About	Riva San Vitale works. Riva San Vitale is a small village in the Ticino Canton of Switzerland. Riva is situated on the Lago di Lugano, and is located between Lugano, Switzerland and the Italian border. Santa Croce is the most distinguishable church in Riva, and, with its location on the hill, is a noticeable landmark. Santa Croce was built in the later half of the sixteenth century by the Della Croce family, one of the noble families of Riva San Vitale.
