Very charming her pose, nice effect of motion blur. B&W conversion is good, IMO. When you are looking for a powerful B&W tool, I would try out "Convert to B&W Pro", from theimagingfactory.com, $$ but probably the best tool available. Works as PS plugin, and thinks in film terms (filter, color response, tonal response, toning) - nice when you are sitting on the fence for film.

Thanks Saeed, I will be waiting for your tips cuz B&W photography is my passion. I am planning to switch to film (sounds crazy I know) as soon as I find a good processing and developing course. Did you read about Zigview LCD that attaches to viewfinders of both film and digital cameras, I think It will be cool to be used in film camera at least to see what you capturing before developing. here is a pic of this zigview.

I like the high cast and the motion effect, I came late but one day I?ll show you how you produce good looking B&W, although Angelo did mention part of the techniques. Saeed

great image.. I like the softness of the image...would be neat to try a different angle, from standing on a chair or from closer to the floor.. but the image conveys a nice mood and one can almost sense the dancing.. good work

I can imagine the effect you wish to obtain Amna but I would not know how to get there.
I do like this photograph though with a slight hint of pinkness too - superb !
Best wishes, Steve

The brightness of the photo together with the blurred motion effect give it a very nice mood and appearance. Excellent image Amna, keep it up my friend, Khaled.

Very beautiful image Amna! if you want to get dramatic BW tones then you need some texture (details) in the image that you can play with the contrast. It's true that there are some details on the ground, but not enough to create the dramatic BW tones that you want. I suggest if you re-shoot this image to shoot from a lower angle (closer to the ground) and have a side light source, I think this will get you more details on the ground that you can then use dodge and burn tools to create the drama. Beautiful and expressive image as is!

Amna, I think this is a lovely moment. I love the movement and the carefree attitude of the girl.
I don't know how to help with the lines on the floor.
As for the b&w, just use the channel mixer and not tone anything. Begin with a red 60, green 30 and blue 10 in the channel mixer in mono mode. Experiment from there.

Amna...I want you to do a search on Optikverve plug in. It is a plug in that goes into both PS and PSP. It is free and available off the net. Whilst I don't use it all the time, I will tell you that it is aimed at photograhers and has some brilliant BW tones in it. There are also some free effects that you can download off the same site for this plug in. If you have trouble let me know and I will find it for you.
I believe that this is what you are looking for with this photo.

Hi Amna,
I like this image...delightful with the motion of the little girl. I remember when my daughters were always 'dancing' and swirling their skirts!
I love her pigtail flying out, and LOVE her feet! I like this, the high contrast is GREAT!!!
I like your tones, pink, sepia, blues, all just what you like!
GOOD JOB, Lori ;)
