what a great shot, this tured out beautifully. I thought it was some odd flower from the thumbnail.

Toni

I have been around for a month or so now. Thanks for your kind comments.

I wasnt on my back but i was standing and holding the camera at about knee height, pointed it upwards and tilled my LCD to let me view it and moved out of the way to get a clear shot. (it maybe easier to explain if i just upload an image of me in the act. was kind of tricky so to speak)

regards

Sid

Beautiful design. You captured it very nicely...lovely light, very sharp and symmetrical. Were you on your back? Are you new to UF? Welcome! Thank you for your comment on mine. Antonia

Thanks for the kind comments Ferran. This was the first photo that i uploaded on usefilm and needless to say it is among my favorites. I did see a few alternate perspectives of the very same dome which i could email to you. It is kind of intresting to see how the same building can be captured in so many different ways.

Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Regards

Sid

Pardon my spanish but I had to add the one line that i claim to know

"Muchos muchos gracias amigos"

Mohamed

Thanks. That sure seems to help the overall quality of the picture.

I did try to use PS to improve this image. The outer circumference not being complete has been bothering me for quite sometime now. I tried using a slice from the other areas fo complete the image but it didnt look natural. I think the Field of view in the North-South directions needs to be a tad more.

Sid

PS: i am quite a travel junkie and jump at any given oppertunity of a road trip. This just serves an excuse to hit the countryside with my camera again!

Thanks Mohamed.
i appreciate you viewing the image and heaping such praise. Regarding cropping it, I think you are right. I plan to drive back to Austin (about 150 miles from where I live) and take another photo of the dome.

regards

Sid

That was the first thing I noticed too. That and the four heads that appear around the outer circumference. One of the drawbacks of using the LCD instead of the viewfinder.

I plan to head back to this place again.next week maybe. This time earlier in the morning ( to avoid the crowds) and with my tripod (to lower the camera.)

Well seen I would of included the whole dome.
But I might not of seen the shot in the first place
