Hi Eric,
Thanks for all the great information on the use of these cameras. The website that you sent is really helpful. It seems there is a real cult following around the using of these Kodak Pocket cameras. I will eventually get around to trying it with some 120 roll film and spacers. I can easily develop the negatives myself and then scan them to see how they come out. Apparently the lens on these cameras is pretty good. I will post the results when I finally do get around to trying it. Thanks again Andre

Nice camera Andre. If you do want to shoot some pictures with it there is a workaround for the nonavailability of the 116 rollfilm. You can use standard 120 rollfilm. This ends up giving you a panoramic format shot somewhere around 6x12. Here's a link that will go into a little more detail on how to do it. http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/postcard.html I've tried it with a couple of my old folders, and it's really a lot of fun to bring them out of retirement, though you will get some puzzled looks from passersby wondering why on Earth you're using that antique when Walmart sells perfectly good disposable cameras for a few bucks... Thilo, I asked around a few suppliers yesterday. It seems I might have trouble getting some film for this camera. Andre

Hi Kevin, Yeah, the deck is fine... No plans to rebuild. It's got that nice "old money" look to it now. Only problem is I don't have any old money.
Actually you point out one of the things where I could have improved on this photo. Because there is nothing in the picture to compare sizes with the camera, if you had never seen one of this type, there is no way to judge the size.
It is 8" long by 3 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" thick, when in the folded away condition. Gigantic by todays pocket camera standards. But, I suppose you could carry it around in a large pocket.

Re-do your deck? just when it was looking so great as an early 20th century wooden deck??!? haha, just kidding. Your deck looks great, no need to replace it.
Does that say "pocket kodak" just under the lens? someone must have large pockets!! lol.

Thanks Thilo,
I really just wanted to show the old camera. But, it seems I may have got myself into a project. Do you know if anyone still sells A-116 film?

Wow, that's a great peice of history right there, and you've managed to get a stunning capture of it there. I like this version more than the desaturated blue version, just because it feels like it's back in history when you see the purple flowers and the greys of the old wood. Great job!
And thanks for your nice comment on my film, I'm glad you liked it. You were right about all those influences, although the swordfighting was only partially influenced by Kill Bill, and mainly by all kung fu films (I watch a lot of those). And if you listen carfully, you can hear musical influences from Men In Black, the Matrix, and even a similar pipe organ peice that was inspired by Danny Elfman's Batman Score. But anyway, thanks for watchin, and have a good day.

Hi Andre,
even better than the BW version. The DOF idea is still there (to put the flowers out of focus), but the contrast makes the image.
good one!
best wishes,

Hi Kelly, Everything appears to be in working order. It doesn't even look like there are any holes in the bellows. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the last time this camera took a photo was around 1964. I'm not sure about 116 film availability, but I will make an attempt to get some and try it out. This should give a great vintage look to the image. This is the camera. http://www.clickondavid.com/no1ap.html Andre
