I live very close to Lake Martin (15 minutes away!) It is very hard for me to get anything done in the spring and summer! Let me know if you're ever in the area, it's beautiful here! Thanks for the comments!

I am very impress with your work and I would really like to visit the area that you are in. I have been close to there but not pinpoint. I like how you portray your subjects. Great job...Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic image, Darlene! You've achieved a great effect with that slow shutterspeed.

It was a very slow shutter speed (and I got lucky!) Thanks so much for the comment.

Great title, it does look like a dancers skirt, swishing round very pretty

Beautiful... love the movement in this photo... & how the bird is translucent... excellent how you can see its head & beak through the wing... very clever... would like to know how you got this effect.... my guess is two photo's laid over one another... or has this come about from just using a slow shutter speed? However you managed this, the effect is stunning... well done!

Jimmy, Yes he was! There are lots of BIG chicks there now and they are such fun to watch (and photograph!) I think I'll go back tomorrow morning! Thanks. Darlene

I love the effect you got from the slow shutter speed. Its wings look translucent. The chick must have really been flapping those wings.
