I have added the plain simple black frame to the image (have yet to upload it...) and it's quite striking. I may end up swaping out the green line with one solid black border. Thanks for the idea.

I don't have a lot of experience with adding frames around photos, but it's especially the bright green line that's distracting. The idea to repeat a color that is somewhere else in the photo is nice , and it's definitely better then adding a new color to the photo. If you really want to use frames, a simple black frame without additional lines works better here I think, but of course it's all a matter of own taste and preference.

The water is captured brilliantly, it's not that easy to get water look the way you want.
The frame around the photo that you added distracts me however, but the photo itself is very nice
