Hello Thilo,
this is a picture of a long pier (it's out of use).the iron that I focused was really far away from my camera (I fixed the zoom at aprox.300 mm).
this is the reason.
but you may be right because maybe I misunderstand the meaning of "maximum DOF" :=)
