A tight close crop for a very strong image of this unlucky man. Thanks for not shying away from telling his story.
Despite all his troubles, you have shown him in a dignified way, which is commendable.

Thanks Onur - yes, his skin is red. Thats what striked me even before I took some photos. Remember, this man stayed next to the railway line for years and his skin took on an almost bronze, leathery appearance. I included a desaturated image wich shifts the attention more to his other facial features, or so I think. Regards. Joggie

Hi Riny - you are correct, I've been busy lately and away from home on various projects and will be very busy in the coming months. Will try to post as much as I can. Yes, old Joe is a wanderer and loner. The tatoo on his forehead was done in jail, if you look closely you will see his nose was also broken. More time with him might reveal a host of true life events. Kind regards. Joggie

Hi Allison, Thanks for the comment. This shot as all of my "close" portraits, was done after asking permission. I normally start with a conversation, getting the information and the person talking, then while talking with them I would photograph, trying to capture the essence of the personality as I percieved it in that brief space of time. I found that most people will drop their gaurd and show some emotions if you are genuinly interested in them as persons.

Hallo Joggie,
Groetnis,

Joggie, I have to ask this question as I love your portraits and want to learn from you. Do you first ask to photograph, or do you just shoot on zoom from a distance or shoot them from close and then show them or how do you approach your "street shot" subjects?

Wow Joggie. Your portraits blow me away. They capture so much of the person. Your focuss on the eyes says it all, always so clear and telling a story. Excellent.
