About Well, I finally braved the 91 degree heat yesterday and got out of the house to take some pictures. Just some cropping on this one.

Nice composition and lovely colours!
Your butterfly stands out nicely against the blurred green background.
very well done, Laurie.

again just a bit soft, but beautiful colors and composition...I saw you are after the 100 mm macro...that has turned out to be my "walk around" lens...you will love it...

Thats an incredible DOF there Laurie! The composition is superb on this Laurie. The strong diagonal of the plant gives a lot of impact to the shot and provides an interesting angle contrast to the butterflies wing. Beautiful colours and detail too... Possibly one of your best macros yet!

The composition is very beautiful. I like the frame. Not an easy shot to make with a nervous and fleeting subject. Well done.

Laurie, Thank you for your kind comment on my picture. :-)

Thanks P.J.! Butterflies can be tricky b/c they do tend to be skiddish. I used an 85mm lens for this one which worked well b/c I could stay a pretty good distance away.

Your narrow dof worked well to highlight the special details of butterfly and flowers. Such beautiful complex subjects and your presentation is perfect in its simplicity for featuring them.
