Wow, Ian, you've delving back into the past! This was the first time I tried out my latest purchase, an old E.German 30mm F/3.5 lens. It's one of the sharpest ever made! (and they can be had for peanuts). I like the focal length very much.

Jamey, this restaurant ship is a bit too pricey for me... Maybe to celebrate a birthday one year?

Have you eaten there? There's one here in Philadelphia (similar things seems to be my comment theme today) on an old old wooden sailing ship called the Mushlu. I don't know anyone that has ever eaten there...but in the 20something years I have lived here I know it has caught on fire a whole bunch of times (once almost destroying the ship) and I can think of at least two times they have given everyone that ate there food poisoning. So it's not on my list of things to try....

Actually, Antonella, the lens in this case is an old E-German one that I picked up for a song. The Bessa is a different one from usual--an SLR. (All manual, and even uses stop-down metering.) Glad you liked the photo. It's one of my favourites!

This photo is glorious! See how many hues it retains??!!! Wonderful Bessa and lens and silly me to let it sit on my shelf!!! Hugs,

George, most photographers have problems with what we call the "white skies" of Japan. And it's not confined to Yokohama. You can count the days on which we get true blue skies, and there are seldom interesting cloud patterns when we do. Very different from England.

A fine angle, Roger, and an excellent line in to the ship. I took a similar one when the O.M. ship 'Doulos' came into Southampton. Best regards, Chris

Hi Roger. Looks like found a better day to visit this classic liner that I did. There is something about the sky/air around Yokohama that just seems to keep me from getting any good landscape photos. Only one of the mornings when I was there last spring could I see Mt. Fuji. Maybe it is just the way things are.
