About One of the superstitions the Japanese have in common with the Chinese is this small pantheon of good luck gods, seven in all. These delgithful carvings were just piled on the back of a cart behind the stalls at Nezu, when I was there fore the azalea festival. Couldn't get a better angle, but I thought they deserved to be introduced.

Thank you, Igor. I think the 800 ISO film was too fast for this bright day, although I was grateful for its speed later in the afternoon. This was a very difficult shot to take, and I don't believe in "cloning" out things. You are quite right about the background and that funny fishhead in the foregrounmd!

Nice colours and good lighting, but I found sharp background and a detail in foreground a little distracting.

Yes, Bertram, Fuji does really good scans, but I find my new F-3200 film scanner does just as good a job, although I have to tweak the scans for exposure, dynamic range compression, sharpness and white balance, for which I prefer to use Power Retouche plugins. I really find these excellent and most of the corrections are second nature, now. Almost automatic. Like you, I am now a fan of Russian lenses!

Nicely cropped deatil, one cannot beleive the iso 800 as usually, the lens looks super and again I am envy !! So very fine lab scans, wish I could get them here

I couldn't help but think of Isaiah 44:16-17 when I saw this shot, Roger ~ nice bits of carving but completely useless for anything else!
Best regards, Chris
