Thanks for all the comments, Danny. I appreciate you taking the time.
I am happy with some pics and disappointed others didn't turn out as I thought. It was a wonderful photo trek with an excellent guide whom I would not hesitate to recommend.
There's plenty to come yet!

A well seen shot... I like the position of the birds in the scene... not perfectly centered. I think that a polarising filter would have helped the colour be a little more saturated in this shot... the colour just seems a little flat to me. I think the polariser would have made the sky just a little more blue which would have made the green of the birds and the red of the mound stand out more.

Maria,
That is no rock, although they are rock-hard. It is a work by one of nature's great engineers: the termite (in Brasil: "cupim").
Relative to the size of the termite, these mounds are the world's tallest skyscrapers. They also keep the right temperature for the termites, irrespective of outside conditions.

Thanks, Ian.
The compression quality is either 60 or 80, I think (PS 6.0) - any softness and lack of definition are purely the photographer's (and his equipment's) fault :)

Something irresistable about this Angelo, maybe the way the birds match exactly the colour of the grass, and how the scene composes so well. It's also so interesting as a documetary shot together with the note, although the compression quality doesn't do it justice.

Na Serra da Canastra, cada cupinzeiro é maior que o outro. Uma loucura!
E vem mais cupinzeiro por aí, mas acho que de pássaros já chega... :)
