Waow Paul, i was away for a while, but i see i have missed some Amazing action from you. This picture, i love it. Wonderfull composition. Excellent timing, taking the shot when the left man is taking a drink. Really wonderfull subject and and and.. i dont know what else to say about it.. it is just perfect, a really impressing picture! This is wonderful Paul and very deserving of the award. The interplay between the two men is very interesting to see - comfort and familiarity is evident and patience from the one on the right while his very prim and proper friend has his drink. There is a definitely an unhurried 'taking my time' feel about the image too.. And the different body language from one to the other is superb!

Dear Paul, Yeah , this one's just a killer shot. I think the B/W was the way to go here to keep the ultimate attention on the 2 men's faces / expressions. Using the Paul Simon song works well to - goes very well with the shot. Congratulations on the award, Mark PS. would be nice if UF threw me a little front page bone once in a great while - might even push me to be a donor again - but they seem more interested in blocking me every once in a while instead so, go figure..........

The two old boys look like wonderful characters...and yes the shot says friends for ages. There are some little bits that I might want to change (tighter panoramic crop ie top of table with the two heads) but sometimes you just have to take the shot, give it a tweak and then leave it alone...well done.

Thanks Roger.. I see your point about showing more under the table. I was only concerned about being able to see the details of their faces. I guess I always try and resist using too much PS work and only dealt with the overall brightness/contrasts....but I am slowly warming up to the idea on using more specific ps work on occasions and your suggestion is good...

I recognized it from the thumbnail! Much prefer this version, even the almost harsh contrast spotlights those fascinating faces! I don't think I could have resisted showing a bit of texture in the black shadows under the table but I can see how your treatment is very effective. Congrats!

Excellent candid photo, Paul. The two guys seem to be immersed in each other and in the surroundings, and I don't think they took notice of you taking their photo, Paul. I re-read your bio in which you said that you were busy with life.
