Hi: I'm guessing they're barn owls. Wonderful photo! We love owls. We just don't get them as much.

Hi Laurie-- I was within 6 ft of them. I stepped a bit TOO close once, and the larger guy in front sort of jumped out at me :)) Caught me off gaurd! My friend has the hay arranged in a way that we can get up to them without too much trouble, just go up for a minute or two to snap a few shots. I don't think they'll be around much longer, since they are growing quickly and getting in their adult feathers.
Thanks for looking:)

Really fantastic shot! Looks like they are starting to get a few adult feathers in. How close were you to these little guys when you took the shot?

Very cute photo. Might still crop a bit off the left, and even right. Was a diffused fill flash used? It might have evened up the right. But this is good as is.
