Hmmmm, now you're asking me, Larry! That's a tricky one! If it were me I would probably use the Nikon with the new lens and still leave the setting on 'Vivid'. But if you're more familiar and confident with the 828 I would go for that! Strictly speaking the Nikon combination ought to give you a higher quality image, but there's no use going through the day worried that your pictures are going to be less than the best.
I know I'm ducking it a bit, but I hope this helps.

Yes, excellent PS work Chris!!
I just purchased a Nikon 28-90mm lens Chris. Also choose to use VIVID, which increases sharpness, saturation etc. One thought, do you think it might oversharpen my images with this lens and VIVID setting both?? Wedding is tomorrow. Strongly thinking of using my Sony F828 as my main camera and my D70 as my backup. Guess I am more used to the Sony.
What do you think friend?? :-))

Yes it has a 'certain glow' about it, but it is lovely.
Commenting is a bit of a pain at the moment, UF seems to keep crashing out when I put comments on - never sure if they go through, have to keep going back to check grrrhrhrhrh glad my previous comment got through to you and thanks for your comments too

I found your comment so encouraging!
I love taking photo's and am delighted when they can stand alone, as it were, without too much help from PS. But I also love creating images that make use of elements I've taken, welding them together in PS, and producing something vaguely artistic. I find it very therapeutic and it's also an outlet for any artistic talent I may have.

Half the fun is 'seeing' an image, and whether you use the camera or PS or both doesn't really matter. This is to the PS end of the scale and many who sit to the conservative (small c) end won't like it.
I do like it though, it shows whats in your mind and gives us a glimpse of colourful personality.
