If you ever make it to Tokyo let's get together. I know a few good spots. Thanks for your encouragement. I do love my statues! and yes, I manage to have a lot of fun...

Fascinating moment Roger? I envy you! I wish I?d been there, soaking it all in! Look at the display of power and grace? the sound must be truly awesome and yes, the phenomenal women look? phenomenal! I know I would have planted myself right about where you snapped this from and stay there for the duration. What a captivating society Japan. And your own life as well? ;-)? I mean simply affirming your life in such a country must have been an extraordinary choice. Or maybe just mysterious destiny at work... But love certainly played a part? children, grand-children?
Got off track? Yes, I really like this shot!
ps? you look pretty happy sitting there in the park bench with your bronze pals ;-)

Thanks Matej. I think the woman's face in III is the result of motion blur. I included it because of the details of her dress--and those muscular arms! I have another one, a close-up of one of the male drummers, looking very fierce. Lots of motion blur, too, though. Every shot I look has at least one glaring fault!

They really look 'up for it', Roger! Nice action shot of this drum ensemble. The panoramic crop works well. Kind regards, Chris

I like the combination of angles used here and in part II. They provide good complete documentary value by showing the band from the crowd's point of view and vice-versa. I find the behind-the-scenes feel of part II especially interesting. The two photos work well together and in fact you could perhaps settle for a diptych; part III does not fit in so well (the angle used there does not reveal much relevant additional information, the format is different and there also seems to be a slight focus issue with the foremost drummer's face).
