About Temple Newsham House - yer architypical Jacobean house, and it's, erm, fountain...

I've been here many time and the things never working. I pay good council tax money fir such things!

Nice and bright day meant I could expose for the sky and the foreground would be lit enough to not be a silhouette - then photoshop brought out a bit more detail.

Nice place to go shoot, and the garden get very colourful in a few weeks too.

Great capture Ade, I needed a 15mm lens for that vertical shot up the tower at the Armouries. I couldn't quite fit it all in.

Just had to climb a 60' tree to recover a remote controlled plane that I "parked" into its canopy !!!

I'm getting too old for doing daft things like this now ;-)

Best wishes,
Steve

It's a strange one to compose really - you can move around the fountain and put it where you like with respect to the building - and i did a few different ones. but this seemed most pleasant.

this ain't that far from Garforth actually - just a few miles up the A63 I think.

Was a cracking match wasn't it - thuogh he could have showed a little emotion at the end when he won! the man's made of stone

I like the asymetrical composition here Ade. At first I thought it was you but when I look close, that's how the garden is laid out. The fountainless pond looks very impressive.
Snooker? Yeah, terrific job by Shaun Murphy who originates from Irthlingborough - about 3 miles from where I'm sitting. The semi, him & Ebdon was two local lads. Ebdon comes from Wellingborough.

nicely done - works well.

I often go for the darker side of photography to make things seem a bit heavier and have more impact, but in this case I think you've hit the nail on the head. It was a bright day and you've managed to keep the sky blue - so yeah. May get the huge TIFF opened and do just that!

Cheers

Ade

PS

GIMP.... installe dit once and got lost - too much Photoshop for me to ever change now i think!

PPS - like snooker? - just saw the final of the world championshop and it was awsome, Shaun Murphey is a star!

Nice perspective, Ade! I hope you catch it working sometime, looks like it would be a good shot!
Dave.
